New Manchester Walks runs walks, tours, canal cruises and coach trips in and around Manchester, unravelling its rich history and promoting Manchester as the UK’s second city.
We cover every aspect of Manchester – past, present and future – looking at its architecture, music scene, political history, industrial heritage, role as European City of Science 2016 and its position as Britain’s football capital.
We run tours of all the great Manchester buildings – the Town Hall, John Rylands Library, Chetham’s and the Cathedral, Art Gallery, the Free Trade Hall/Radisson Hotel and Central Library.
We go to every area of the conurbation with a strong history – Ancoats, Salford Quays, Didsbury, Victoria Park, Cheetham Hill and many others. We even go further afield, to Knutsford, Alderley Edge and (whisper it) Liverpool. We focus on every great character who has made their mark on the place, from Emmeline Pankhurst to George Best, from Winston Churchill to Morrissey.
Our tours are run as regular public events but can also be booked privately. Full details on our website, www.newmanchesterwalks.com
