The sun is finally shining, which means there’s no better place to be than outdoors. And in this sort of weather, there’s nothing better than heading out for a game of golf.
Some people like to use dry and sunny days to laze away and lie down in the sun, soaking up all the rays. Even if you prefer a little more action, most of us don’t like to play sports which get you super-hot and sweaty – which is essentially the reason why the British invented the slow, casual, relaxed games of Cricket and Golf.
Cricket is one of the rare games which is boring even if you’re playing it, but it does at least help to pass the time between lunch and dinner whilst pretending to do some exercise. Golf, on the other hand, is a psychological and physical battle against nature, physics, and fellow players. It involves precision, accuracy, tactics, a cool nerve and a steady hand.
There’s plenty of courses around Manchester and the north-west, but we love playing at Didsbury golf course, which has been around for over 120 years (!) and which offers special rates for CityCard members.
If you’re a keen golfer, you might also be interested to know that CityCard members get special rates for buying an OpenFairways membership, which gets you 2-4-1 rounds (bring a mate for free) at loads of courses right across the UK!
So go on, get out there and take a swing.
