Where celebrities eat in Manchester

Where celebrities eat in Manchester

You’ve probably all read about Nando’s and the black membership cards which they give to celebrities (which give them free food for life – imagine that!  I’d be bigger than a truck by now if I had one of those!), but, assuming that Adnan Januzaj and Elbow aren’t nipping down to Nando’s, where are the best restaurants  in Manchester to spot famous people?

San Carlo seems to be the Italian restaurant of choice for local glitterati.  Having been a firm favourite for Manchester United post-match dinners over the years, the restaurant is popular with Coronation Street stars and was even frequented by Rihanna last year!  It’s a beautiful place to eat, and believe it or not, you don’t need to be a Premier League footballer to eat here.

Sticking with Italian, Rio Ferdinand’s Rosso bar and restaurant has a good churn of celebrity visitors – though less so from the blue side of the city.  Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs has taken a more partisan view on things, and Man City players are officially banned from his Georges restaurant in Worsley.

If you’d prefer a Chinese, then Wings! Is the place to head – where signed plates and photographs on the walls are evidence of the celebrities who have got their chopsticks out in their time.  Mr Wing never seems to miss an photo-opportunity, and is a regular in the MEN.

Akbars in the City Centre appears to be the place of choice for Indian food – however, I did once see Radio 1 DJ Mark Ratcliffe at the Shere Khan in Rusholme!
