New Team-Sport indoor karting set to be a winner

One of the perks of being Manchester’s favourite discount card is that we get approached by the great and good to help them get the message out to the city about their new restaurant, show, bar, or, in this case, an indoor karting race track!

There’s a brand new Team-Sport indoor karting track opening in the city centre – like, literally in the city centre (underneath the MEN arena and Manchester Victoria station) – and, on top of a fantastic offer for all CityCard members, we were invited to give it the spin at their launch event last night!

The new karting track in Manchester is one of 19 Team-Sport karting tracks across the UK, and it cost a whopping £1.2m and six months to build – but boy was the investment worth it!  The track itself is a very nifty multi-layered track, and, with plenty of twists and turns along the 550 metres long lap, a genuine pleasurable challenge to drive and race around.  There’s also more than one place to over-take, which makes for an even more fun and enjoyable race all round.

Meanwhile, the karts – all squeaky clean and brand new – are electric, and turbo-charged enough to hit 40mph (which feels a lot faster when you’re closer to the ground!)  As well as being eco-friendly and not producing any fumes (which is lucky, since the track is in a basement!), the cars are pretty quiet, so your head isn’t throbbing to the sound of the engine after a couple of minutes on the track.

Aside from the cars, there’s a very plush bar and restaurant to sample pre-or-post your drive, the staff were really friendly and helpful, and the whole experience seems really professional.

Overall, we had a brilliant evening out, and I can see this place being extremely popular – so book early to avoid disappointment!
