There are some days that stand above all other days, and Monday was one of them! In spite of the usual Manchester December weather (i.e freezing cold, with a whipping wind, and no respite!) I had one of the best days I'd had in Manchester in a while.
Maybe it was the mulled win in the Christmas Markets in St Anns Square, with the bustling buzz in the afternoon, and a nicehot wine to warm your cockles, whilst you try to decide what to eat out of a foot-long sausage, amazing German Rosti, or even just to head straight to the desserts!
Maybe it was the dinner in Rosso, my favourite place for 'casual dining'. It has food that is cooked to perfection, and ambience that gives you the impression that you are welcome all night, impeccable service, and still comes with a bit of a wow-factor even though it has been a hit on the Manchester nightlife scene for many years now.
Or maybe (and quite probably), it was the afternoon spent in the all-new Rena Spa at the Midland, which now offers Caudalie and Germaine De Cappucini products that leave your skin glowing. I started off by thawing out in the Himalayan Salt-walled Sauna, before making use of the pool and the relaxation pods, where you can forget about your worries. It's made extra relaxing by the fact that you are down below the hotel, with no network, which means you can leave the phone in your locker and truly escape the stresses of modern life (for an hour or two at least!)
It was rounded off with an energising Massage using their new Caudelie Devine oil that left me energised, and almost ready for the trip back outdoors into the dark of the night.
It was such a fantastic day, that I can't wait to be back in the heart of the City once more! I would definitely recommend it!
